This store opened out of a passion for the outdoors and exploring in 2002. It is also the oldest Outfitters in the Northest quarter of the State of Alabama.


I started going to Sand Rock/Little Rock City/Cherokee Rock Village in the 80's, when 4X4 was required, with my Dad to lay on the rocks and watch airplanes fly over. Maybe that's why I always wanted to fly, and why I joined the Air Force.

In high school, the 90's, I used to sit on the rocks overlooking Wiess Lake thinking how wonderful it would be to open an outdoor store where I could share my passion.

In 2002, when I was graduating college and starting my time in the Air Force, my cousin founded J. Bradley Outfitters. His hard work is why folks have had such an awesome place to find the best gear in Northeast Alabama, RTR!

In May of 2011, I bought the business from him and picked up where he left off.

Today the store has expanded in size and products offered. Also, it has recieved a much needed facelift and a new name (Gadsden Outfitters).

Now, thinking back to those days sittin on the rocks at LRC, I have to say God took me on one long round trip to end up with an outdoor store in the city I was born, and where so many of my family call home.

I love it, love the outdoors, and my store will get better every day. Now, GO Explore Gadsden!
